Hi there! As we are on this journey in Haiti, one of the things we want to do is truly get to know each of our partners and pray for them as much as we can. We look forward to doing that in the coming months and years. We thought it would be fun to share a little bit about our family as well so you, our partners, can know a little bit about us too.

We’ll keep it short so we don’t bore you all 😉 Our story starts 20 years ago! We met at church and started dating when we were just 15 years old. We dated all throughout high school and on July 4th 2004 Jim asked April to marry him, while we were surrounded by fireworks! 10 months later, in the church we met, April’s dad married us. We were 20 so it was kind of funny when we went on our honeymoon and couldn’t even rent a car at the time! 😉 During our first 5 years of married life God grew us in more ways than we could have imagined. Most of it was through loss. We went through years of infertility and loss and we now have 7 precious children waiting for us in heaven. 6 through first trimester miscarriage and 1 beautiful daughter named Annabelle, whom we lost through stillbirth. Through those years though, we had some of the sweetest, most raw & intimate times of worship with God. Through those years, He changed us in so many ways and for that, we are forever thankful.

Well I bet you are wondering, how those three adorable little boys got into those pictures above, since we had all those losses right? Well, God is good, He is faithful and He knew the whole story He was writing for us long before we even saw the first page. June 20th of 2010, we were filled with joy to bring home our firstborn son Isaac through the beautiful gift of adoption. March 11th 2013, we gave birth to our second son, Micaiah. Then on December 31st 2016 we were able to bring home our third son, Ezekiel, through the beautiful gift of adoption as well. God definitely did more than we could have ever asked or imagined! We are so thankful.
