We usually share what our family has been up to in the beginning of each newsletter but this news is so BIG that it couldn’t wait! It deserves to be at the top of the newsletter.
We have an OFFICIAL MOVE DATE!!! Up until now, anytime we have shared a date or time with you all, it was just a GOAL date, however, now we have the official date from our organization that we will be moving to Haiti. Our family of 5 will be leaving the United States and starting our life in Haiti on Friday August 23rd. We cannot thank you all enough for going on this journey with us the past year and a half since we started raising support to move. You will never know how much it meant to us every time you shared with us you were praying, or you simply asked how we were doing with the journey.
We ask more than ever now, for your prayers as we have 4 1/2 months to sale our home, 2 vehicles, finish raising support, get the items we need to bring with us, & pack up all our belongings. Needless to say this brings with it a lot of emotions as we are so excited to start this journey God has called us to and yet emotions of leaving our family that we love so dearly & other comforts we’ve come to know & love in the states.
WHAT IS NEXT?
Now that we have our official moving date, we will be very busy in the coming weeks as we prepare. The first thing we will be doing is putting our house up on the market to sale within the next two weeks. In May, on April’s birthday, our family is going on our last family vacation here in the states before we move, so we can spend some special time together. In June, Jim & April will be heading to RMI’s home office in Florida to further prepare for the move.Sometime this summer we will be putting our two vehicles up for sale as well.
Along with all of those things, April will be finishing up her Haiti Hub training, we will get getting the boys passports, gathering all the items we need to bring with us to Haiti & packing up all our belongings. Most of all, we will be spending as much quality time as we can with our families this summer, to make special memories before we go.
We have had the privilege of speaking at 4 churches the past few months and Jim preached on worship at Shelby Alliance church on March 24th. We have spoken at a few local small groups and one small group in Akron, OH. We enjoyed many individual chats with friends as well, sharing about our journey to Haiti.
Family wise, the boys have been doing really well in school as April homeschools them and we celebrated Micaiah’s 6th birthday on March 11th. We are all looking forward to all that we can do these last 4 months together with our family & friends, to make as many memories as possible and enjoy Ohio’s beautiful Spring & Summer weather. Isaac & Micaiah are in their last Spring Soccer season with their teams, so we look forward to watching them play.
Since our last mailed Christmas update, we have raised another 20% in support, PRAISE GOD!
WHAT NOW?
Our organization, RMI, has let us know that we need to just raise 
another $750 in monthly support before we move.Of course, even more will be better, but we at least have to have the $750 raised. We need this raised before July 1st, as we have to send down our stuff, which takes 1-2 months to get there and we will need it to arrive before we do on August 23rd.
We have been blown away this past year and a half, seeing how God worked in our lives, grew us more than ever before and raised our the funds in a way only He could. We give Him all the glory. Thank you so much to each of you who have been supporting & praying for us. Please continue praying that we finish well on this side of the journey. Along with the last $750 we need, we are also in need of more churches, bible studies & small groups to speak at so we would love any referrals.
